The nose was earthy with a touch of pepper (not exactly inviting but not unpleasant either) ... though this is kinda what you'd expect from this grape combination. While the nose should come around in time the palate is definitely good to go with a rustic peppery entry but then turns to a sweet red fruit mid-palate and then to a peppered-raspberry finish, with nice length. This wine should see Reif's shelves in about mid-March and at under $20 is well worth picking up. Price: $ N/A - Rating: ****+ ...
