Grown entirely in Tweed, Ontario – which is located just in the shadow of the Canadian Shield, then aged one year in French barrels, 6 months of which is in new Allier barrels (still French, but specific forest) and the yeast used is Burgundy-derived. This is quite simply a lovely version of Pinot full of beet root, licorice, black cranberry, and violet … it’s light and fresh and very fruit driven with good backing tannins and fresh acidity – but here the fruit reigns supreme. Hard to imagine a wine like this coming from where it does, but that’s what makes wine such as interesting beverage. Price: $40.00 – Rating: ****+
