A 62% Merlot/38% Cabernet Sauvignon blend aged in Canadian oak from a wacky vintage: smoky, cedary, blackberry and cranberry all make an appearance, but are distracted by a big tannin bite and cedary-smoky finish ... Yet the palate also shows spiced-vanilla among that cedar, but more time will be needed for this one to meld properly - hopefully it blows off that cedary-oaky "baby fat".  Price: $30.00 - Rating: *** ½
