The Icon, as the wine is now referred to, continues to be an unsung hero in the Ontario wine firmament … 2017, an odd vintage, that started out disastrously and ended beautifully … This Cabernet Franc dominated blend spends 12 months in oak: 6 apart, 6 together with 20% new oak and is aged in a mix of American and French wood. Red fruit forward backed by tobacco, but there’s also undertones of black cherry, black raspberry and cassis on the finish. Good concentration with a long intense finish … elegant and ready to drink, but will also develop over the next 5-7 years.  Price: $24.95 - Rating: ****+
