(June 17, 2016) ... Cracked this one with my backyard neighbour who seemed to think I was opening something really special because of the box it came in, I said "please, it's a Yellow Tail", but I have to admit it turned out to be something even more special than even I wasn't expecting.
Surprisingly spicy and layered with peppery, plumy, black cherry, chocolate, red and black currants ... for those who think Yellow Tail is too plain and simple, this one over-delivered especially for its age and pedigree.

(November 26, 2016) ... I was once at a tasting of the Marques Cabernets from Concha y Toro and I was blown away by their age-ability, so I have little fear in putting them to the test. This 8 year old version did not disappoint: aromas of blackberry, cassis and pepper, that were slightly woody in nature, led to a palate of cocoa, blackberry, cassis, some smoky notes and a peppery spicy finish with some lovely hints of licorice ... I really thought that wood note from the nose would play a part on the palate but I was happily proven wrong. Has at least a year or two left at this level of enjoyment.
