It's not unusual to see great Merlot coming out of Pen Ridge, this is one grape they seem to do well with every year. But this is their base-model Merlot and it's super juicy with blackberry, black raspberry, and even a black licorice note. If this one is wow, those single vineyard versions are going to deliver a double or even a triple wow. Can't wait!  Price $16.95- Rating: ****
