(June 18, 2016) ... Look, I'm not going to beat around the bush here, I'm a fan of the Delaine Syrah, it's a good wine no matter what the vintage.  2011 looked like it might be disastrous  for Syrah, but instead the Delaine version proved me wrong again; so now, 5 years from vintage date, and this wine is still going strong: savoury and meaty, though it has lost some of its spicy zing; now it's smooth and easy and a great pairing with steak because that acidity helps right the palate.
